Andrew Richard Wilds

MILO - Andrew Richard Wilds passed from this world on January 12, 2021, after a short bout with stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma (cancer in the bile ducts). Andrew was born in Cadillac, Michigan on May 17, 1973, to Richard and Angela (Soles) Wilds. He attended Tustin Elementary school in Tustin, Michigan. Also, Lincoln Elementary School and Forest View Elementary school in Cadillac. He continued his schooling in the Cadillac Public Schools until 1991 when he moved to Georgia. Andrew graduated from Louisville High School in Louisville, Georgia.

After graduation Andrew worked for a short time at Four Winns Boat factory until he moved to Lordsburg, New Mexico, to further his education. Andrew attended Western New Mexico University in Silver City, New Mexico, where he attained a BS in zoology.

While attending university, Andrew met the love of his life Sherryl Ann King. Andrew and Sherryl were married on September 10, 1998, in Silver City, New Mexico. The wedding took place at Little Walnut picnic area with a reception following there.

After graduation Andrew began his career with USDA in Nogales, Arizona. Andrew worked for the APHIS department of USDA for over 20 years. He served as a trade director for SE Asia for a period and also as a Program Policy Manager until his death. During his career he traveled extensively in the USA and South East Asia. Throughout his career, Andrew continued adding to his education.

Andrew loved family and friends above all else in the world. He enjoyed camping and hiking with his family very much and did as much of it as his career would permit

Andrew had a wide range of interests: among them were agriculture, photography, lost wax casting, mycology and ecology.

Andrew is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wymond Wilds, Howard and Frances (Falan) Soles all of Cadillac, Michigan; and two aunts, Sharon Jordan of Cadillac and Audrey Hayden of Pinconning, Michigan.

Andrew is survived by his wife, Sherryl Ann King-Wilds, and one son, Forest Richard King-Wilds both of Milo, Maine; his parents, Richard and Angela Wilds of Deming, New Mexico; two brothers, Jason Wilds of Deming, New Mexico, and Adam Wilds of Mesquite, Texas; his paternal grandmother; Bertha (Miller) Wilds of Cadillac, Michigan; several nieces and nephews; and a large extended family.

Due to Covid-19, a memorial at some point in the future is planned with interment in Deming, New Mexico. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
