Rodney A. Perry Sr.

HERMAN - Rodney "Doc" A. Perry Sr., 80, passed away peacefully February 17, 2014 at a Bangor hospital. Rodney was born in Milo June 19, 1933, the son of Rodney, Sr. and Ethel (Wallace) Perry.

Rodney served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Upon his return he worked for the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad as a machinist and later for Maine Trailer Sales before ultimately retiring. Doc will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Doc is survived by his loving children, Janice Lawrence of Glenburn, Linda Igo of Glenburn, Mike Perry of Bangor, Roxanne Litano, Sandra Lingley and husband, Duane of Palmyra, and Donna Steeves and husband, Paul of Bangor; 19 grandchildren, special grandchildren, Randie Getchell and husband, Steven of Pittsfield, Stephanie Perry of Palmyra, Maryanne Ranco, and Barbara Hustus; five special great-grandchildren, Brianna and Haylee Hustus of Palmyra and Justin Perry of Stockton Springs, Abigail and Emma Getchell of Pittsfield; sisters, Charlene Pender of Milo, Betty Martin of Kansas, Francis Chamberlain and husband, Everett of Island Point, VT, as well as several nieces, nephews and close friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Muriel Perry and two sons, Peter F. Perry and David A. Perry.

In keeping with Doc's wishes, there will be a graveside service in the spring that will be announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Avenue, Hampden.
