|SEBEC - Madeline "Maggie" Alta Cottle, 73, passed away peacefully, May 25, 2013, at her home with her family by her side. She was born Sept. 3, 1939, in Island Falls, daughter of Lawrence and Alta (Splan) Hardy.|
Maggie adored spending time with her children and grandchildren and will be sadly missed by her loving dog, Max. In 1964 Darrell and Maggie purchased a camp on Schoodic Lake where she enjoyed her time with so many friends. Her summer was filled with brothers, nieces, nephews and spending time with her daughters and son. One of her greatest loves of all was her many years on the Downs Road in Sebec. Maggie was a member of the bowling league in Dover-Foxcroft, St. Francis Xavier and Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Milo, and Sodality Club.
She is survived by her longtime companion, James Jackson of Sebec; two daughters, Kathy Watters and husband, Mike, of Bowerbank, and Janine Jewell of Marlboro, Mass.; stepson, Robert Cottle of Houlton; three grandchildren, Mike Watters Jr. of Carmel, Matthew Watters and wife, Missy, of Dover-Foxcroft and Robby Cottle of Houlton; three sisters, Marlene Boutilier and husband, Dale, of Oakfield, Ida Jenkins and husband, Charlie, of Old Town and Marcia Siltz and husband, Richard, of South Paris; two brothers, Dean Hardy and wife, Sue, of Merrill and Rocky Hardy of Milford; uncle, Herbie Splan; and many nieces and nephews. Maggie was predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Alta Hardy; husband, Darrell Cottle; sister, Judith Hardy; brother, Larry Hardy; and grandson, Bandon Cottle.
Visitations will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at St. Francis Xavier and Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Milo. Burial will be at Sebec Corner Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Maggie's name to American Diabetes Association , 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
