BROWNVILLE - Deborah Black died Jan. 3, 2013, at her home after a willful battle with breast cancer. Born May 22, 1949, the daughter of Neil "Bud" Daggett, Deborah spent her much of her life in the Milo area.

Her adventurous heart took her as far as California; however after several years on the West Coast, she returned to the area, her children and the people she loved. Deborah appreciated a productive garden and found great pleasure living close to nature in Brownville. She enjoyed animals and shared her life with her two cats, The Tramp and The Brat, as well as her adopted dog and constant companion, Flower. She was a fantastic cook, who made delicious pies and breads to be shared with family and friends. Deborah often had a knitting project going. She was fond of poetry and the written word.

Deborah will be sorely missed by her partner, Brian Campbell; as well as the entire Black family. Deborah lost her "Daddy" in 2012. She leaves behind her daughter, Katherine Hera; her son, Jarrod Black; as well as her brother, her sisters, her grandchildren and many friends, who became her family. The Black family expresses their sincere gratitude to Brian; Deb's special friend, Sue; and the hospice caregivers, who provided the time and attention necessary to make certain Deborah's desire to spend her final days at home was fulfilled.

Per her wishes, there will be no funeral. Those who wish to honor her memory may do so by making a donation in her name to Community Health and Counseling Services Home Health and Hospice Services, 14 Summer St., Dover Foxcroft, ME 04426.
