Liston F. Lewis

BROWNVILLE - Liston F. Lewis, 92, passed away peacefully Aug. 3, 2012, at home with his wife, Roberta and son, Alan at his side. He was born July 28, 1920, in Milo, son of Arthur and Grace (Chase) Lewis.

He was educated in Milo schools and Maine School of Commerce. During World War II, Liston spent three years at the Headquarters of Military Railway Services in Africa and European Theaters. He was the personnel director and labor relations officer of the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad. Liston was past master and life member of Piscataquis Lodge No. 44 AF & AM, member of Rabboni Royal Arch Chapter No. 62, and a member of Danforth Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his infant daughter, Linda; son, Gary; brother, Sherwood; two sisters, Madelyn and Mildred; niece, Connie, and nephew, David. Liston is survived by his wife of 70 years, Roberta; son, Alan L. Lewis of Brattleboro, Vt.; granddaughter, Shari of Florida; grandsons, Stephen of Brattleboro, Vt., and Christopher of New York, and their mother, Christine of Brattleboro, Vt. Many thanks to Ardis Porter and the girls from C.H.C.S Home Health and Hospice Service, niece, Sandra Genthner who was always there for us, and nephew, Larry Morrill and his wife, Donna, who willingly shared their time helping us in all ways.
