MILO - Robert "Bob" T. Curtis, 73, died July 9, 2012, at a Bangor hospital with his family at his side. Bob was born April 15, 1939, in Milo, the eldest son of John B. and Betty (Tompkins) Curtis. Bob loved the great outdoors of Maine and experienced it with his three sons, eight grandchildren and many friends - snowmobiling, camping, fishing, canoeing and boating. Bob loved wildlife and always had numerous bird feeders to attract and feed the chickadees, and his favorite - the blue jays. Bob's favorite spots included his family camp on Schoodic Lake, camping at Abol Bridge near Katahdin, and breakfast with friends in Milo at Elaine's. He is survived by his ex-wife and friend, Patricia Curtis; their three sons and families, John and Mary Brigid Curtis of Casco, U.S. Marine Corps Col. Robert and Nori Curtis of Jacksonville, N.C., and Donald and Sarah Curtis of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; and grandchildren, Alyssa, Jared, Katie, Robert, Carrie, Ellie, Brent and Liam. He is also survived by his brother, Dr. Alton Curtis and wife, Kay, of Woodland, Calif.; and sister, Mary Kennedy and husband, Larry, of Deland, Fla. A memorial service in Bob's honor will be planned for a later date in Damariscotta. Gifts in his memory may be sent to The United Baptist Church, Milo.
