Hilda M. Morrill

MILO - Hilda M. Morrill, 87, passed away April 2, 2012, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft, after a brief illness, with her daughter and son-in-law at her side. She was born Sept. 7, 1924, in Lincoln, daughter of Elbridge John Drake and Hattie (Price) Drake. She received her high school diploma from Milo High School. She worked as a lab technician at Milo Community Hospital for 25 years. On May 1, 1945, she married George "Rip" Morrill. They were married for 51 years. Hilda and Rip spent many summers at their camp at Bowerbank on Sebec Lake with their beloved cat, Tabby. Hilda is survived by a son, Timothy Morrill and his wife, Jeanette, of Durham; daughter, Tanya Ellison and her husband, Robert, of Medford; seven grandchildren, Laurie Cates and her husband, Scott, Terry Morrill and his wife, Teri, Jerry Morrill, Troy Morrill, Michelle Morrill and her companion, Ben Bailey, Rob Ellison and his wife, Amber, and Tammy Ellison; and nine great-grandchildren, Craig and Molly Morrill, Kambrea Atkinson, Dustin Ellison, T.J. Morrill, Benjamin, Braylyn and Brian Bailey, and Keagan Ellison. She leaves a sister, Ida Evans; brothers, Wesley and Warren; half brothers, Earl, Elbridge and Frank Drake; and stepsister, Grace Haskell. She was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband; sister, Beverly; two brothers, Robert and Dale; and half sister, Gail Wright. Hilda's family thanks the staff at Hibbard Nursing Home's A-Wing for the excellent care she received. Friends and family are invited to call 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo, with the Rev. Michele St. Cyr officiating. After the burial in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery, all are invited back to Park Street United Methodist Church for a time of fellowship.
