Arlene G. Morrill

BROWNVILLE - Arlene Gerrish Morrill, 87, wife of the late Charles M. Morrill, died Dec. 10, 2011, at Mayo Regional Hospital. She was born Nov. 23, 1924, in Milo, daughter to Earl Sr. and Inga (Oberg) Gerrish. Arlene grew up and lived in Brownville her whole life. She worked at Gerrish's Store, owned by her parents in Brownville from a child until she and her beloved, Chucky, sold the store in 1987. She was known and loved by all in the community. Arlene was an excellent baker, and enjoyed making breads and pies for family friends. Arlene is survived by her only child, son, Brent A. Morrill and his girlfriend, Shelley Humphrey; and cherished grandchildren, Brooke and Benjamin Morrill. She was also loved by many generations of nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Gerrish. She was predeceased by her brother, Earl W. Gerrish Jr. just six weeks ago. The family thanks all the staff at Mayo for their loving care and kindness not only to Arlene, but for the family also. A special thanks to her caregiver and dear friend, Glenda and loving nieces, Lorrie and Christina for the extra tender care they so willingly gave her throughout her life, but especially these past few weeks. Family and friends of Arlene may attend a celebration of life service 1 p.m. Dec. 17 at Brownville Community Church, where a reception will be held after. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Brownville Elementary School, Coat & Boot Fund, 774 Main Road, Brownville, ME 04414 to benefit children in our area in need of warm clothes.
