Muriel M. Crabbe

BROWNVILLE JCT AND HOULTON - Muriel M. Crabbe, 91, passed away Sept. 25, 2011, at a local health care facility with her family at her side. She was born Sept. 3, 1920, in Debec, New Brunswick, daughter of Wallace and Hazel (Durling) Wright. Muriel was a member of Women's Institute, Debec, New Brunswick. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Brownville Junction, for many years and a member of Katahdin Senior Citizens. She enjoyed bingo, family gatherings, sewing, knitting, quilting, cooking, gardening and watching her favorite TV programs. She was a very strong woman and mother, and was the matriarch of a large family. Muriel is survived by her son, John Crabbe of Woodstock, New Brunswick; three daughters, Grace Edney and her husband, Ron, of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Carol Jewell and her husband, Butch, of Houlton, and Donna Grant of Brownville Junction; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Wright and his wife, Mary, of Debec, New Brunswick, and Russell Wright and his wife, Alta, of Bath, New Brunswick; two sisters, Wyona Caine of Bridgeport, Conn., and Madeline Little and her husband, Archie, of McAdam, New Brunswick; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Crabbe; sons, Charles Crabbe and William Crabbe; daughter, Gladys Turner; three grandsons, Michael Crabbe, Kevin Jewell and Jeffrey Jewell; three sons-in-law, Stanley Grant, Arthur Elliott and Paul Turner; daughter-in-law, Eileen Crabbe; six brothers and sisters. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dunn Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at Saint Mary of the Visitation Church with the Rev. David Raymond, celebrant.
