Urban C. McLeod

MULBERRY, ARK - Urban "Joe" C. McLeod passed away March 7, 2011, with his wife, Wanda, at his side at his home. Urban was the son of James A. and Edythe E. McLeod of Brownville Junction. He attended Brownville and Dexter schools. Urban served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He transferred to the U.S. Air Force after receiving his basic training in the U.S. Reserves. He was a great woodsman and loved to hunt and fish. He was also a Boy Scout who loved to perform with a bullwhip. A longhaul truck driver, Urban would call his wife, Wanda, and his mother, Edythe, every night from wherever he was at the end of the day. He is survived by his wife, Wanda of Mulberry, Ark.; his mother, Edythe Gormley of Brownville Junction; a brother, Kenneth McLeod of Brownville Junction; a stepbrother, Paul Racine of Newport Beach, Calif.; and a stepsister, Carol Gosselin of Midway Park, N.C. Urban was predeceased by his father, James A. McLeod; two stepfathers, John O. Racine Jr. of Dover-Foxcroft and James "Bill" W. Gormley Jr. of Brownville; several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by everyone. Arrangements in Arkansas were handled by Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, Van Buren, Ark. Burial will be later in the spring in the family lot at Pinetree Cemetery, Brownville Junction, under the direction of Lary Funeral Home.
