She belonged to Milo United Baptist Church, Order of Rebekah's, Order of Eastern Star, Orion Club, Ayuda Club and Milo Garden Club. She was an avid seamstress, knitter, made beautiful quilts and kept her family in beautiful handmade clothing. Every year, until very late in life, she made sure that there was a hand-knit pair of mittens on her grandchildren's Christmas presents, along with a homemade popcorn ball for their stockings. Harry and Evelyn had many wonderful years with their family at the camp they built at Schoodic Lake. She leaves behind her sister, Althea Hamlin; brother-in-law, Ralph Carey and wife, Margaret; her daughter, Ruth Janeski and husband, Steve; her son, Richard Carey and Penny Gorman; her grandchildren, James Carey, Jean Jenkins, Rachelle Leland, Daniel Preble, Jennifer Bickford and Jeremy Carey; step-grandchildren, Jennifer Asplund and Jeremy R.
