James M. Haughton

LAGRANGE - James "Big Jim" M. Haughton, 82, husband of the late Pauline (Brown) Haughton, died Jan. 20, 2011, at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. He was born Aug. 1, 1928, in LaGrange, son of the late James C. and Helen (Farrell) Haughton. Jim served his country with the U.S. Army. He was a truck driver, a job he enjoyed his entire life, beginning when he was 12 years old. He also enjoyed following Men's League softball around New England. Jim was a member of J.P. Chaisson American Legion Post No. 41, Milo. Jim was predeceased by a brother, Donald Haughton. He is survived by two sons, Larry and his wife, Linda, of Brownville and Michael and his wife, Nonna, of Bangor; five grandchildren, Elaine Dunham and husband, Steve, of Old Town, Billie Jo Sickler and her husband, Danny, of Glenburn, Andrew Haughton of LaGrange, Dylan Haughton of Bangor and Arianna Haughton of Bangor; two great-grandchildren, Raymond Sickler of Glenburn and Kaitlyn Dunham of Old Town; many cousins, aunts and longtime family friends, including Debbie Archer. The family thanks the staff at Maine Veterans Home for the wonderful care Jim received throughout the last year. There will be no services at this time. Spring burial will be in the family lot at Hillcrest Cemetery, LaGrange.
