Melinda K. Lundin

MILO - Melinda K. (Colby) Lundin, 61, died peacefully April 1, 2010, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer, at a Bangor hospital. Melinda was born Feb. 25, 1949, in Bangor, daughter of the late Darrell and Harriett (Lawrence) Colby. Melinda grew up in Dexter and graduated from Dexter High School. She worked at Dexter Shoe and then became a homemaker. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, camping and her family. Her passion was her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Melinda enjoyed all of the children she babysat for and they all knew her as "nana". She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 29 wonderful years, Donald "Donnie" Lundin; mother-in-law, Faye (Hanson) Lundin of Milo; seven children, Dawn Lundin and fiance, Larry Bishop, of Garland, Veronica Levesque and husband, Tim, of Levant, Sherri Coburn and husband, Mike, of Milo, Tracy Lundin and wife, Lea, of Gorham, Tricia Stanhope and husband, Raymond, of Brownville, Eric Lundin of Bangor and Michael Lundin, and fiancee, Sarah Akeley, of Buxton; 13 grandchildren, Ryan and wife, Kelly, of St. Albans, Derrick and Shawn Graves of Newport, Malorie Robinson of Texas, Amanda Robinson of Bangor, Justin Levesque of Levant, Jessica Coburn of Milo, Erica Coburn of Milo, Ashley and Joshua Stanhope of Brownville, Kaylea and Kathryn Lundin of Gorham and Colby Lundin of Bangor; and four great-grandchildren, Sydney and Parker Graves, Kevin Royal and Michael Coburn. Melinda was predeceased by her aunt, Marion Hanning of Connecticut. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Melinda's name may be made to CancerCare of Maine.
