ORRINGTON - Calvin M. Lewis, 73, dearly loved husband of Helen J. Lewis, went to be with his Lord and Savior Feb. 24, 2010, at a Bangor health care facility after a brief illness. He was born March 31, 1936, in Lagrange, the son of Murray and Helen (Elden) Lewis. Calvin graduated from Milo High School, Class of 1954. He worked for many years at Great Northern Paper Co. in quality control. Calvin then worked for Milo School District, SAD 41. He served as an interim pastor for Maine Rural Missions and from 1976 to 1980, he was pastor of Church of the Open Bible, Charleston. Throughout his life he liked working with children and enjoyed volunteering at Milo Elementary School after his retirement. He attended Orrington Centre Church. In addition to his wife, Helen (Clark) Lewis; he is survived by his children, Stephen Lewis and wife, Debbie, of Hagerstown, Md., David Lewis and wife, Laura, of Corinth, Marcia Amero and husband, Dennis, of Dover, John Lewis and wife, Heidi, of Lagrange, James Hancock and wife, Lauri, of Bradley, Jolean Wilcox and husband, Mike, of Palm Bay, Fla., Vicki McKenna and husband, Scott, of Peabody, Mass., and Nicki Gogan of Orrington; grandchildren, Sarah, Rachael, Ethan, Sadie, Amanda, James, Joseph, Megan, Jennifer, William, Andrew and Brendan; great-grandchildren, Austin "Auzzy," Kaytlynn and Addison; and one sister, Carolyn Raisenan and husband, Dick, of Arizona. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 34 years, Pauline (Blodgett) Lewis. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, with the Rev. Daniel Packer, pastor of Orrington Centre Church, officiating. Interment will be in the spring at Marston Cemetery, Orrington.
