Vaughn H. Farrar

BROWNVILLE - Vaughn H. Farrar, 76, died Nov. 2, 2009, at a Bangor health care facility with his loving daughter, Gayle, by his side. He was born July 24, 1933, in Brownville Junction, the son of Archie V. and Ada (Doyle) Farrar. Vaughn was employed by Canadian Pacific Railroad for 36 years, where he was a member of local UTU No. 752. He served his country in the U.S. Army, 1953-1955. Vaughn was a devoted husband, father and brother and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley (Pray) Farrar; children, Karen Bunker and husband, David, of Eddington and California, Gayle Eames of Glenburn, Timothy Farrar and fiancee, Jen, of Brownville, and Peter Farrar of Milo and significant other Amanda; grandchildren, Amy and Andrew; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Ashur; brothers, Kendall and wife, Noella, Charles, Leon Sr. and wife, Barbara, Ralph, Bert and wife, Sue, and Walter and wife, Deanna, all of Brownville; mother-in-law, Liona (Kennedy) Speed; sister-in-law, Lillian McLean and husband, Allen; brother-in-law, Calvin Ireland; his feline friends, Stormy, Bebe and Sidekick; many nieces and nephews, and his good friends and coffee buddies. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son-in-law, Edward Eames; and two sisters, Lucille and Carolyn. A graveside memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at Pine Tree Cemetery, Davis Street, Brownville Junction, with the Rev. Isaac L. Paynter officiating.
