MILO - Richard W. Weston, 80, husband of Dora (Lowe) Weston, passed away peacefully Sept. 28, 2009, with his wife by his side at a Dexter health care facility, after a long illness. He was born May 7, 1929, in Brownville Junction, the eldest of five children to Raymond H. Weston Sr. and Evelyn (West) Weston Stearns. Richard attended Milo High School, Class of 1948, and served with the U.S. Army, 1948-1952, as a staff sergeant. Richard and his family moved to Oxford, Mass., in 1964. He retired in 1988 from Stevens Linen, Dudley, Mass. He was a member of J.P. Chaisson American Legion Post No. 41, Milo; and a former member of Auburn Lodge of Elks, Auburn, Mass., and 200 Sportsman's Club, Webster, Mass. Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing, going ATV riding and was an avid reader. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dora of Milo; two daughters, Ann L. Weston of Auburn, Mass., and Rachel C. Galasso and her husband, Robert P.; son, Shaun R., all of Leicester, Mass.; a son-in-law, Curt M. Amidon of Oakland Park, Fla.; a brother, Raymond H. Weston and his wife, Betty, of Orlando, Fla.; three sisters, Charlene Cooney of Douglas, Mass., Geraldine Weston of Bangor and Rosalie Seavey of Milo; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be remembered by two special people, Teresa and Norman Goodine of Milo. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda J. (Weston) Amidon, in 1998. A memorial graveside service with military honors will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo, with the Rev. Michele St. Cyr officiating.
