Calista Katherine Wibberely

MILO - Calista Katherine Wibberly, 76, went home to be with the Lord March 8, 2009. Kathy was born in Toledo, Ill., the daughter of Oren and Clara (Letner) Rice. She graduated from Eastern State College High School and Moody Bible Institute, where she met her future husband. She married Donald Eugene Wibberly in June 1956. She was a homemaker, but worked for a brief period of time as a certified nurse's aide. Kathy had been a resident of Milo for more than 50 years and spent the last few years with her daughter in East Millinocket. She was a member of LaGrange Baptist Church. Kathy was a devoted wife, and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed teaching children's Sunday school classes, listening to her Bible tapes and reading the "Daily Bread" devotional. She especially enjoyed organizing family gatherings. She is survived by her children: daughter, Elaine Brown of Brewer and her children, Jamie and girlfriend, Ashley, and Kristin and friend, Dan; daughter, Cheryl Carrell of East Millinocket and her children, Andrew and Rebecca; and son, Dale Wibberly of Winterport, his wife, Cindy, and their children, Megan and Matthew. She will be fondly remembered by a special niece, Debby Burt of Brewer and her husband, Brian, and their children, Katie, Kelsey and Sam. She will also be remembered by several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 40 years; her siblings, Florence, Leora, Thelma, Orville, Kenneth and Vernon; and a special son-in-law, Ted. The family appreciates the care and concern shown by Lincoln CHCC hospice workers, Donna, Debbie and Rhonda; and volunteers, Esther and Faye. Friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo, where funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, March 13.
