Olan Keith Burton

MEDFORD - Olan Keith Burton, 69, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009. He was born June 21, 1939, in Corinna, the eldest son of the late Olan E. and Georgena Burton of Dexter. Keith enjoyed hunting and fishing all his life. He had a great fondness for antique cars and was a collector of guns and knives. He grew up in Dexter and graduated from Dexter High School in 1957. Keith worked in the shoe industry for many years and then moved into the construction trade in which he was still involved. Keith was a member of the Masons and Shriner's. Keith is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Cindy, who resides in Medford; sons, Stephen Burton of Bangor, and Joe Burton and wife, Sue, of Dexter; daughters, Lori Pearce and husband, Tim, of Winterhaven, Fla., Frankie Burton and Barry of Milo, and Robin Cowan and husband, Chris, of Hermon; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Burton and wife, Glenna, of Dexter, and Gary Burton and wife, Marge, of Corinna; and a close cousin, Allan McLean and wife, Connie, of Shannon, New Brunswick. He will be missed dearly by good friend, Frank Allen, who was like a brother; and the Dewitt family of Medford. He will be dearly missed by his beloved sidekick, Mosses. A graveside service will be held noon Monday, Feb. 23, at Schoodic Cemetery, Trestle Road, Medford. A remembrance of Keith's life will be afterward at Charleston Pentecostal Church, 185 Main Road, Charleston. Memorial donations may be made to Safe Place Food Pantry, Corinth.
