ATKINSON - Dale Edward Larry, 67, died May 21, 2008 at Togus Veterans' Administration Hospital, Augusta. He was born May 2, 1941, in Barnard, the son of Gene and Edith (Badger) Larry. Dale was a very dedicated husband, father and grandfather, who fought to the end. He endured a lot of illnesses, but never gave up. He was a very proud Vietnam veteran and was at ease with all veterans, enjoying their friendships tremendously. Dale's hobby was restoring his 1929 Model A Ford and his 1956 Pontiac Starchief. He enjoyed camping at West Branch ponds and Canada Falls, fishing, hunting and buying old fix-me-ups. Anyone who met Dale will always remember his sense of humor and ability to make people laugh. He was employed with Parcel Post in his earlier years, before he became disabled. He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. (Corson) Larry. Special thanks to Pat for all the loving care and hard work she did for him and his family for many years. It was so appreciated by every one of us. He is also survived by a sister, Leatta Robinson and husband, Dale, of Atkinson; a brother, Kenneth Larry and wife, Gail, of Guilford; five sons, Gordon Larry and wife, Jennie, of Atkinson, Dean McEwen and wife, Tracey, of Atkinson, Vince McEwen and companion, Raquel Woodward, of Dover-Foxcroft, Kevin McEwen and wife, Donna, of Charleston, and Robert LaBree and wife, Candi, of Greenbush; 11 grandchildren, Austin, Liticia, Garrett, Tiffany, Chris, Beth, Vanessa, Sheila, Justin, Allison and Camden; a sister-in-law, Delores Rich and companion, Marvin Davis; a brother-in-law, Leonard Corson Jr.; and mother-in-law, Joyce Corson; many great-grandchildren, special nieces and nephews. Dale was predeceased by his parents; a granddaughter, Vanna McEwen; his father-in-law, Leonard Corson Sr.; and a best friend, Ernest Richards, whom he had always held dear to his heart. A special thank you to everyone involved with Dale's care at the veterans' hospital. All of you have been very dedicated, and we are very proud of each one of you. A heartfelt thanks to Diane Turner, Judy Morrison, Renee Hunt, Lisa Worcester, Rhoda Brackett and Clifford Pendleton for all their excellent care and friendship. A graveside funeral service, with military honors will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, in the family lot at Greenwood Cemetery, Atkinson. Dale loved life and lived it to the fullest and would like everyone to come in casual clothes, if they so wish. Friends and family are welcomed back to Dale and Pat's home in Atkinson after the service for refreshments. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home.
