Marie K. Cummings

MILO - Marie K. Cummings passed away March 21, 2008, attended by her family. Born May 16, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Kessler Sr. Marie was a graduate of St. John's Parochial School of Canton, Mass., Canton High School and the former Chandler School for Women, Boston. She worked for Whitney Brothers, Boston and Control Engineering, Norwood, Mass., before marrying her husband, the late Kenneth E. Cummings of Maxfield. They later moved to LaGrange, where they raised a family of five girls. Marie was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was a communicant at St. Leo's Church, Howland, while she lived in LaGrange and later at St. Paul's Church, Milo. She is survived by her five daughters and four grandchildren, Carolyn Veillette and her husband, Stephen Veillette, of Collinsville, Conn.; Barbara Hamlin and her husband, Neil, of Milo and daughter, Jean Marie Hamlin, and son, 1st Lt. Anders Hamlin and his wife, Lorelei; Nancy Glasheen and her husband, Michael, and daughter, Kristin Glasheen of West Townsend, Mass.; Linda Joyce of Hampden and her son, James Joyce; and Patricia Cummings and her husband, Doug Marchio, of Bangor. Our mother will be remembered for her commitment to her family, warm hospitality, strength and faith. There will be a Mass 3 p.m. Monday, March 24, at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Howland and a burial at Maxfield Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Leo's Parish Building Fund, Howland and Our Lady of the Snows Cluster Parish, Milo.
