Ronald R. Rogers

d. January 06, 2008

NORTH BERWICK - Ronald "Ronnie" R. Rogers, 49, died unexpectedly Jan. 6, 2008, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, N.H., with his wife by his side.

Ron was nothing less than devoted and dedicated to his family and friends. Along with his wife, Rachel, his eternal soul mate, they together defined what marriage commitment and friendship is all about. For many years Ron had gone above and beyond his call of duty to make his community a better place for all. His passion and inspiration to help others defined who and what he believed in. His pride and compassion came from his two sons, Justin and Joshua.

With 20 years of service with the North Berwick Lumber Company, Ron developed more than business relationships; he created friendships. His honesty and integrity is what attracted people to him. His greatest asset was his ability to communicate.

As a community leader, Ron spent many hours dedicating his time to the North Berwick Athletic Association along with many other organizations. Because of the commitment put forth by Ron, along with his wife by his side, our community is thankful and fortunate to be who we are. His most grateful times were the ones where he could watch his boys play ball, spend time with his friends or do what he loved most of all, spending time with his wife.

Enthusiasm best explains how his touch made the people around him better. He made the world a better place, but he made the people around him even greater. He showed us how to admire, cherish, and adore, but most of all, he taught us to be a friend, father and husband.

He will be sorely missed by his loving wife of 23 years, Rachel A. (Grant) Rogers; two sons, Justin R. and Joshua R. Rogers; his mother, Ruth (Tuttle) Phillips; father and mother-in-law, Robert B. and Jeanne L. Grant, all of North Berwick; three brothers, Joseph Rogers of Somersworth, N.H., Peter Rogers of Wells, and Michael Phillips of Durham, N.H.; sisters-in-law, Becky Isaacs of Charleston, W. Va., and Penny Grant of Berwick, several nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market St., North Berwick. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Bethel Christian Church, 129 Lower Main St., North Berwick, with the Rev. Robert G. Cole, Sr. officiating.
