June Taylor Lincoln

ORONO - June Taylor Lincoln, 74, died Dec. 20, 2007, at a Bangor hospital, after a long struggle with multiple sclerosis. She was born April 3, 1933, the daughter of Joyce (Caron) and Raymond Taylor. June was educated in Milo schools and graduated from Milo High School in 1951. She married the love of her life, Charles Lincoln, Aug. 25, 1952. June and Charlie spent the first 25 years of their marriage living in Milo and then moved to Orono to be closer to Charlie's work in Bangor. They celebrated their 50th golden wedding anniversary, Aug. 25, 2002. Although June was a housewife most of her life, she and Charlie both enjoyed vacationing on the coast of Maine, spending many summer days in Milbridge. June was especially fond of her pets, including her dog, Poochie. June was predeceased by her mother, Joyce; her father, Raymond; and her brother, Clayton. She was also predeceased by sister-in-law, Irma Ellis; brothers-in-law, Dana Ellis, Harold Barnes, Hubert Weston, Manley Dolley and Jerry Whitaker. She is survived by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Blanche Barnes, Isabelle Weston, Lois and Paul Strout, Priscilla McPheters, Alice Dolley, Carolyn and Bob Reed, Leslie and Susan Lincoln, Evelyn and Ralph Robbins, Doris Whitaker, Gerry and Faith Lincoln, and David and Wanda Lincoln. June also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. June's extended family wishes to thank the staff of Orono commons for the loving care and friendship they gave to June during the course of her stay there. Visiting hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A graveside service will be held at Alton Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in June's memory to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Maine Chapter, 170 U.S. Route One, Suite 200, Falmouth, ME 04105.
