OAKLAND - Tara Lilly, 32, went home to be with the Lord Dec. 15, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. Tara was born Sept. 19, 1975, in Bangor, and grew up in Milo. Tara loved life and lived it to its fullest. More than anything, she loved being a mother to her precious and beautiful children, Paige, 6; Eve, 5; Jude, 3 and Brynn, 1. Being a wife and mama was her calling in life, and from Girl Scout troops to family trips, to story hours at the library, to serving others at her church, she did it with zest, spunk and humor. To know her was to love her and she touched so many lives with her faith, determination and will. Her family will always cherish those special times at the lake, the memories of watching the children grow and the dignity with which she lived every moment. She leaves this world far too soon, but will now do God's work from up above. She married her husband, Ryan, in Farmington before ad-ventures with graduate school and jobs brought them from West Virginia to Colorado to Vermont and eventually back home to Maine. In addition to her children and husband, she is survived by two loving parents, Robert and Marie Hayes of Milo; brother, Ryan Hayes and his wife, Joy, and their children; brother, Nathan Hayes and his wife, Crystal, and children; her loving sister, Kerrilyn Marzullo and her husband, Matt; her maternal grandparents, Raymond and Margaret Amsden; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bruce and Sheila Lilly; and so many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and countless dear friends. All that knew her are simply devastated and saddened by her passing. Her family has been blessed by the support that they have received during her illness and they are thankful for the immeasurable ways that they have felt God's mercy in this struggle. Visiting hours will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at Wheeler Funeral Home, Oakland. A celebration of life funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Dec. 21, at St. Theresa's Cath-olic Church, Oakland. Donations may be made to the Tara Lilly Fund, Maine Savings Bank, Milo, ME 04463. A contribution from this fund will be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
