Florilla M. Blair

SEBEC - Florilla M. Blair, 85, passed away unexpectedly May 13, 2007, at her home. She was born Oct. 31, 1921, in Stacyville, the daughter of Arthur G. and Grace E. (Dudley) Seavey. Her grandfather was Mark Leroy Dudley, Katahdin storyteller of Pamola. Known as Flo to all, she spent her life raising and caring for her children. Once they were grown, she remained the center of the family. Mom, grammy and great-grammy was always there when her family needed to get in touch with other family members, a shoulder to cry on, or when there was exciting news to share. Wildlife was always a big part of her life; from birds to skunks, she loved them all. She is survived by five sons, David K. Seavey of Sebec, Wayne Heal and wife, Rose, of Dexter, Herbert Heal and wife, Blanche, of Kenduskeag, Lewis Heal and friend, Judy Marshall, of Sebec and Roger "Sonny" Heal Jr. of Sebec; two daughters, Judy (Heal) Morse and husband, Gordon, of Abbot and Noreen Heal-Smith and husband, Robert, of Milo; three sisters, Elsena Howody and husband, Joseph, of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Luanna Mason of Arizona, and Linda Babbidge and husband, Michael, of Soloma, Ariz.; a daughter-in-law, Rose Heal of Milo; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She will be remembered always by three special girls, Kathy West of Milo, Georgia Woodard of Detroit and Katrina Rummery of Dexter, along with many friends. She was predeceased by her parents; three sisters, Jetta Butler, Carlene Thoits and Betty Martin; a son, Nolan Heal; and her husband, Cedric P. Blair. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at Downs Cemetery, Sebec, with Pastor Isaiah Hill. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home.
