Arthur J. Kelley

BROWNVILLE - Arthur J. Kelly, 75, husband of Irene Michaud, died Nov. 19, 2006, after a long illness, at the Maine Veterans' Homes, Bangor. He was born Feb. 6, 1931, in Danvers, Mass., the son of Thomas and Blanche (Chase) Kelly. Arthur had served with the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1962, and retired from the Maine Air National Guard. In 1950, he married Mary Jane Deslisle of Salem, Mass., and together they had eight children. He owned and operated an Italian sandwich business, Kellomies, from 1962 to 1973, and then Kelly's General Store, Caswell until 1986. He had also worked at Charleston Correctional Facility. He is survived by his common-law wife of 27 years, Irene Michaud of Brownville; three sons, Steven A. Kelly of Orlando, Fla., Michael T. Kelly and his wife, Patricia, of Dickson, Tenn., Shaun P. Kelly and his wife, Sandra, of Virginia Beach, Va.; a stepson, Marty G. Michaud and his wife, Angel, of Glenburn; five daughters, Brenda J. Johnson and her husband, Archie, of Mesa, Ariz., Colleen T. Gilmour and her husband, Kerry, of Sabattus, Patricia A. Iddins and her husband, Kenneth, of Brownville, Anna West of Mesa, Ariz., Cricket Leuk of Melbourne, Fla.; a brother, Thomas Kelly of Wilmington, Mass.; two sisters, Emma Bouchard of Danvers, Mass., and Anna MarKarian of Scotia, N.Y.; 18 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor. Friends are invited to call 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo.
