Clarence M. Ellis

BRADFORD - Clarence M. Ellis, 78, died Oct. 11, 2006, at his residence. He was born Dec. 14, 1927, in Brownville, the son of Kenneth and Clellie (Arbo) Ellis. He served in the Army Signal Corps as a radio operator, worked for the B & A Railroad as a telegraph operator and ran a repair business in Bangor and Brewer for more than 40 years. He was a Boy Scout operator for more than 50 years and directed an international Camporee in Japan. He held the Silver Award and the Japanese Hands Across the Sea Award and retired as a scout field commissioner. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 29, Glendale, Ariz. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Bertha (Wilkinson) Ellis of Bradford, are two sons, Mark and wife, Tina, of Orrington and Aaakon and wife, Mary, of Bradford; a granddaughter, Brigget Ellis; a sister, Annette Ellis; a brother, Donald, both of Brownville; and three children by a former marriage, Clayton Ellis of Corinth, Penny Amore of Bangor and Cisca Ellis of North Carolina. Graveside memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at Brownville Village Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are by Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth.
