MILO AND SOUTHINGTON, CT - Laura K. Barnard, 86, wife of the late Thomas M. Barnard, died Oct. 2, 2006, at a Dexter nursing home. She was born April 6, 1920, in Milo, the daughter of Ora H. and Doris S. (Smart) Kelley. Mrs. Barnard had worked in Waltham, Mass., for Standard-Thompson for many years. She is survived by a son, Dana Jack Dow of Guilford; three daughters, Carolyn Hersey and her husband, Earling, of Guilford, Patricia D. Stewart of Sangerville and Virginia Jehnings and her husband, Thomas, of Southington, Conn.; a brother, Lewis Henderson of Milo; a sister, Luetta Cantalope of Cambridge, Mass.; a sister-in-law, Joyce Carlson of Charlton, Mass.; 13 grandchildren, David Foster, A. Leiann Page, Macy Gardner, Kelly Taylor, Martin Taylor, Andrew Taylor, Jacqueline Watt, Rod Willey, Margaret Fontanella, Michael Jehnings, Carole Trask, Thomas Jehnings Jr. and Mark Jehnings; many great-grand-children, great-great-grand-children, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Alice Butcher; a brother, Edward Carlson; and a grandson, Curt Foster. She will be sadly missed by many good friends. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo, where funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, with Pastor David Kelly officiating. Burial will be at the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery.
