HOWLAND - Clayton B. "Howdy" Dixon Jr., 54, died March 14, 2006, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born Nov. 28, 1951, in Milo, the son of Clayton B. Dixon Sr. and Janette A. (Davis) Dixon. Howdy attended schools in Howland before joining the work force. He had several jobs in lumber mills, Southbranch Lumber, Old Town Lumber and Stillwater Lumber, with his last job being at Labrees, until his stroke in 2003. Howdy also was a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Howland, a job he was most proud of. Howdy is survived by two brothers, Calvin and wife, Debbie, of Burlington, Dale and wife, Lisa, of Howland; three sisters, Donna and husband, Edmund Badger Sr., of Lagrange, Linda and William McCausland Jr. of Enfield and special sister, Cheryl Dixon and fiance, Richard Adams, of Howland; stepmother, Angelia Fowler of Howland; stepsister, Lynette Thibeault; and stepbrother, David Thibeault and wife, Julie, of Howland; eight nieces and nephews, Eddie Badger, Bobbi Peirce of Lagrange, Patty Dixon and Donna Dixon of Burlington, James McCausland of Howland, Janette and Jesse McCausland of Enfield and Travis Dixon of Howland; six great-nieces and great-nephews, Austin, Rebecca, Dakota, Arielle, Korianne and Makayla. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Janet Buxton. Friends may call 8-9 p.m. Thursday and 10-11 a.m. Friday, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Angelia Fowler officiating. Spring interment will be in Howland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be left at the funeral home.
