ORNEVILLE - Robert J. Emery, 70, husband of Albina (Herbest) Emery, passed away Jan. 4, 2006, at his home surrounded by all his family. He was born July 24, 1935, in Old Town, the son of John W. and Laura (Michaud) Emery. Bob started working one of his many jobs at age 16. He worked at the Prentiss and Carlisle lumber mill in Brownville for 17 years, for Great Northern Paper Co. for 12 years, William London and Sons Inc. and L & L Trucking. He was also a part-time police officer and a member of the Milo Fire Department for many years. While working two or three jobs at the same time, Bob also enjoyed the outdoors until he became ill. He enjoyed fishing with his daughter Peggy and his grandchildren and hunting with his grandsons, Nicholas and Kiel. He would take his granddaughters, Alexis (Flossy to her grandfather only) and Madisyn riding in his truck. He was proud of Chad, his oldest grandson, for his independence and loving ways towards him. A wonderful husband, father and grandfather, Bob was depended on by his entire family and he will be sadly missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Albina, who cared for him throughout his illness; three daughters, Peggy Emery of Milo, Joan Emery and fiance, Dean Bellatty, of Brownville Junction, Jean Larson and husband, Scott, of Milo; five grandchildren, Chad, Nicholas, Kiel, Alexis and Madisyn; and a very special niece and nephew, Cheryl and Carroll Russell. He will be remembered by a special friend, Arnold Willinski, as well as other friends, Marcie and Kylie Palmer, and Mike LaPointe. He was predeceased by a daughter, Laurie "Sissie."
