Ruth V. Youngblood

MILO - Ruth V. Youngblood, 92, wife of the late Raymond Youngblood, died Dec. 12, 2005, at her residence. She was born May 24, 1913, in Ellsworth, the eldest daughter of Harris and Lydia (Googins) Turner. She graduated from Milo High School in 1932 and from the Addison Gilbert Hospital School of Nursing in Gloucester, Mass., in 1936. Ruth married Raymond Youngblood in 1937 and did both private duty and general nursing for 40 years in the Milo area. She was a member of the United Baptist Church of Milo and the Golden Rule Class; she was a 50-year member and past master of the Pleasant River Grange, a member of the Guilford, Pomona and State Granges, a member of Orion Rebekah Lodge No. 16, where she served as past noble grand and also as past district deputy president and member of Aldworth Chapter No. 39 OES, a charter member of Milo Nurses Guild and the founder, charter president, and member of the Three Rivers Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond; four brothers, Lewis, William, John and Frank Turner; and three sisters, Mildred Cassidy, Beulah Reed and Florence Cooley. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Marks of Milo; two sons, Edward Youngblood of Bangor and Paul Youngblood and his wife Linda of Bristol, R.I.; six grandchildren, Rodney Marks and his wife, Patti, of Ariz., Alan Marks and his wife, Nancy, of Orono, Michael Youngblood of Holden, Leslie Farrington and her husband, Matt, of Brewer, Heather Godwin and her husband, Kevin, of Newport News, Va., Amy Youngblood of Middletown, R.I.; 11 great-grandchildren: Casey Marks, Mathew, Cassidy and Emma Youngblood, James, Madeline and Jeremy Marks, Jana and Macy Farrington, Sydney and Zachary Godwin. Burial will be in the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Milo Nurses Guild Scholarship Fund, 78 Elm St, Milo ME 04463.
