MILO - Harry J. Gappa Jr., 77, husband of Vivian (Fancy) Gappa, died Sept. 3, 1999 at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home after a short illness. He was born March 27, 1922, in Bridgeton, N.J., the son of Harry and Mary (Seibert) Gappa Sr. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and had worked as a Blue Seal Stationary Engineer for the Dupont Chamber Works, Deep Water, N.J. Harry enjoyed working on motors and machinery and spending time fishing and had been a resident here since 1986. Surviving in addition to his wife of Milo, are two daughters, Sandra Ford and her husband, Michael and Catherine Palmer and her husband, Wallace, both of Salem, N.J.; two sons, Harry J. Gappa III and his wife, Linda of Vineland, N.J. and Richard W. Gappa and his wife, Barbara of Pittsgrove, N.J.; two stepsons, Willard (Lee) Leeman of Milo and Gary J. Leeman and his wife, Louise of Jacksonville, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Dee Wedekind of Milo; a sister, Margaret Harris of Cedarville, N.J.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Committal services and burial are to be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth.
