SUN CITY CENTER, FL AND MILO - , 82, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, after a long illness, at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital - nursing home, in Tampa, Fla. He was born July 4, 1923, in Derby, to Wallace J. and Laura Dumond Russell. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois E. Russell; his son, James V. Russell and wife, Wendy, of Zephyrhills, Fla.; three grandchildren, Trista Chapin of St. Albans, Vt., Micah Chapin of Spokane, Wash., and Ashley Russell of Tampa, Fla., and her mother, Mimi Rhoda; four great-grandchildren, Tasmin Chapin, Chloe Chapin, Haleigh Chaplin, and Lexi Chapin, of Washington; two brothers, Charles and Richard of Milo; two sisters, Eva Cobb of Wales, Mass. and Connie Carey of Milo. Roy retired from the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad as diesel supervisor after 41 years of service at the Northern Maine Junction Shop. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force from Jan. 1943 to Feb. 1946. He was a member of the American Legion Post, St. Petersburg, Fla. and a former member of the Community Church of Village Green in St. Petersburg. A memorial service celebration of Roy's life will be planned for July 2006, at Evergreen Cemetary in Milo.
